The Tucano is a low-wing, tandem-seat, single-turboprop, basic trainer.  Originally designed in the late 70’s in Brazil to meet the need of an inexpensive to operate trainer.  Embraer was the primary manufacturer and the 312 and later the 314 were sold to and used by several countries as a trainer for jet aircraft.
