Designed by Bernard H. Pietenpol in Minnesota in 1928. It is a home built two seat parasol aircraft that was originally powered by a Ford model A 4 cylinder engine.

The Pietenpol Air Camper is a simple parasol wing home built aircraft designed by Bernard H. Pietenpol. The first prototype that became the Air Camper was built and flown by Pietenpol in 1928.
Originally Model A 4 cylinder engine because there were millions available and they were cheap. Over the years various gasoline engines were adapted to the Pietenpol, like the Corvair, Volkswagen, Continental etc.

Plans are still available for the full size plane and there are Pietenpol Air Campers being built to this day.
