Cessna Bobcat Developed for commercial use in the late 30’s and purchased in the pre-WWII by both the Army Air Corp. and the Navy as advance twin engine trainers. Pilots that were to fly multi-engine combat aircraft learned their multi-engine wings through this aircraft. Referred as the Bamboo Bomber by many who flew it because of it’s wood wing spar and ribs. It was also fabric covered. Use extensively during WWII by the US, Canadian and British air forces as trainers and small transports. It’s post war life was in many countries around the world. Several small airlines adopted it for use with it’s 5 seat capacity and low cost. It was the aircraft featured in early episodes of SKY KING.
